How to Help Someone in Need

If you know or suspect that a family member, friend or work colleague is experiencing domestic violence, it can be difficult to know what to do. It can be very upsetting to find out that someone is hurting a person you care about. Your first instinct might be to want to protect your friend or family member, but intervening can actually be dangerous for both you and the victim. Of course, this does not mean you should ignore it. There are things you can do to help make the victim and any children safer. If you witness an assault, please call 911 and report the situation.
