Becky's Fund seeks interns year-round who are organized and efficient and who want to learn more about nonprofit development while supporting the fight against domestic violence.
Internship duties include:
- Community Education: Contact and arrange educational speaking engagements with local and national organizations; help staff tables at community events and speak on domestic violence issues to a variety of audiences; and assist with college domestic violence tour starting in the fall.
- Development and Fundraising: Help plan and assist with fundraising events; identify and contact donors; and research grants.
- Volunteer Program: Find and interview volunteers for placement in organization, and phone volunteers to schedule for events.
- Administrative Support: Provide office support; compile shelter, ethnic domestic violence statistics; update forms; research; update website with current information, and assist with mailings.
This internship is ideal for someone who is able to handle many tasks at once, has strong writing, editing, and research skills, and can function well with minimal supervision. The position provides a unique opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a nonprofit organization. Although this an unpaid internship, Becky's Fund will complete any college internship-for-credit paperwork. While hours are flexible, ideally interns should be prepared to work between 15-20 hours a week.
To apply, please send a cover letter, resume, and writing sample to Becky at becky@beckysfund.org.
